We are looking for:
The Reliability Engineer reports to the Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for working with plant personnel to develop plans, processes, and procedures to improve the performance and reliability of plant systems and equipment, increase effectiveness and efficiency of plant maintenance activities, drive equipment safety improvements, develop and implement maintenance work procedures, and provide additional oversight of maintenance work within the facility.
This position requires the individual to be a decision-maker and be capable of completing job assignments either independently or with a team. This individual will be required to perform routine plant safety and maintenance performance audits and to work with plant personnel to develop short term and long term actions to address plant safety and other identified needs. The Reliability Engineer will be called upon to, from time to time, facilitate meetings and presentations related to plant maintenance initiatives, incident investigations, and lessons learned, among other topics.

Maintain strong adherence to plant and company safety, health, and environmental guidelines. Be a strong advocate for ensuring all team members play an active role in supporting safety guidelines and be a safety leader in the maintenance department in terms of adherence to safety permitting and other key processes.

Work with maintenance and operations team members to create, upgrade, and maintain maintenance-related standard operating procedures; and perform training of maintenance team members on new procedures as they are developed.

Gather, analyze, and report on plant equipment downtime data and work with plant team members to develop and implement plans for improvement of equipment reliability and increased component uptime.

Perform root cause analysis of downtime of major components and work with plant team members to identify and implement corrective/mitigating actions to prevent future failures under same or similar circumstances. Train maintenance and other employees on the proper performance of root cause analysis and champion root cause mentality throughout maintenance operations.

Work with maintenance, operations, and capital improvements groups to identify options for improving reliability and operational effectiveness by driving special projects, initiatives, and alternative solutions focused on improving equipment uptime and improving maintainability of equipment.

Coordinate with plant capital project engineers, process engineers, and others to develop, implement, and install new and improved equipment, alter layouts, upgrade components, construct new production lines and other engineering tasks aimed at improving plant operation, component uptime, and maintainability.

Work with maintenance supervision and plant planning personnel to determine optimal means and timing to perform PM’s and key inspections to maximize effectiveness while minimizing equipment downtime and negative impacts to plant operations.

Implement the plant’s predictive maintenance program to include lubrication, vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic inspection, and motor circuit analysis. Champion the preventive maintenance program and continue to drive efforts for improvement which have already been put in place.

Back up the duties of the plant maintenance manager, as required, work with maintenance supervision to drive achievement of plant and department goals.

Work with plant leadership personnel to perform necessary tasks in support of plant operations and maintenance.

Minimum of a 4-yr technical degree combined with 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering position, or equivalent.

Strong safety mindset

Strong communication skills, written and verbal
-
Able to analyze downtime and equipment failure data and correlate findings with mitigating and/or improvement actions.

CMMS system experience. SAP experience is a plus.

Knowledgeable in the principles and application of root cause failure analysis, failure mode effect analysis, and reliability centered maintenance, as a whole. Experience with Sologic (Causelink) or other similar methodologies and software, a plus.

Experience developing and/or implementing predictive maintenance activities

Self-motivated, able to follow-direction and meet deadlines

Familiarity with control systems, ladder logic, and drive systems

Ability to read blueprints, P&ID’s, and other drawings
-
Develop creative and innovative approaches to addressing issues
-
Strong problem solving abilities for mechanical and electrical applications

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $95,000 - 125,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
