We are looking for:

 

This role supports the Shreveport plant by leading and managing the site Supply Chain functions. The position will manage and be responsible for the raw materials purchasing, receiving, shipping, warehousing, packaging and production scheduling activities. They will lead the Materials department to achieve HSE and Quality expectations, instill operating discipline, optimize warehouse operating costs, implement cost reduction measures (both fixed and variable), while reliably, predictably, and efficiently delivering quality products to meet the expectations of the customers. The person will be the primary onsite contact for the customers and field delivery teams while working closely with the commercial and supply chain organizations of the business. The person in this position will be an agent of change instilling discipline, efficiency and accountability to the warehouse and planning workforce in the overall execution of day to day activities to achieve targeted performance levels.

  • Follow HSSE policies to include:
    • Policies and procedures (PPE, operating manuals).
    • Monitoring implementation of HSE activities with follow-up and correction of discrepancies as assigned.
    • Participates as assigned in incident investigations and corrective measures.
    • Lead the department in achievement of set HSSE goals.
  • Lead employee participation and engagement through informal discussions and participation in shift meetings, SYENSQO Life Saving Rule (SLSR) audits, housekeeping inspections, behavioral observations, risk assessments, and training sessions.
  • Lead compliance to plant HSSE policies and procedures to provide positive feedback to exemplary employees and development of improvement plans where employee performance does not meet expectations.
  • Role model by participation in Behavioral Safety Observations, Risk Assessments and Safety Training.
  • Comply with incident reporting procedures. 
  • Support the site’s compliance with SYENSQO HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) requirements, operating permits and regulatory requirements. 
  • Instill discipline and accountability in the execution of all procedures, especially SYENSQO Life Critical procedures. Lead this effort by example.
  • Participate in regulatory and internal audits as needed.Enforce all site and SYENSQO safety rules and procedures within the materials department, other plant personnel, as well as contractors that are working onsite.  Lead by example.
  • Assure appropriate HSE training is provided to all direct and indirect reports.
  • Assure all safety inspections and audits are performed and documented. 
  • Participate in regulatory and internal audits as needed.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities within the department.
  • Support and/or participate in process hazard reviews, pre startup safety reviews, incident investigation, and management of change.
  • Provide approval for changes proposed in the Materials Department and approval to operate equipment, systems, processes, etc, once changes are completed. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for Customer Service (CSR), Field Service, Supply Chain and Commercial organizations.
  • Serve as the primary site contact for the customer(s) and act as their advocate to ensure their interest is strongly represented with plant staff. 
  • Accountable for maintaining adequate inventory of Raw Materials, Finished Goods & Packaging Materials while complying with SYENSQO purchasing processes.
  • Responsible for procuring and processing all orders/requisitions (for specified perimeter) and coordination of all documentation generated through the purchasing process.
  • Expedite orders as required; reporting all supplier performance issues; 
  • Notifying appropriate plant personnel of status, arrival, and location of materials purchased.
  • Reconcile all purchase orders to invoices checking for any discrepancies, expediting all current and past due purchase orders and resolve invoice discrepancy problems promptly.
  • Collaborate with supply chain representatives to minimize non-critical inventories and plan for raw material needs without disruption to production.
  • Assist Supply Chain in setting up local carriers to move products based on Logistics team approved carrier list. 
  • Responsible for accuracy of the SAP system including:  inventory, schedule, confirmations shipments, master data, and recipes. 
  • Support efforts to industrialize new products and optimize existing products.
  • Package and ship products on time and in a reliable and predictable manner.
  • Manage departmental costs and support other site departments to achieve their respective budgets.  
  • Reduce overtime costs while increasing the efficiency and overall output of workforce.
  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop materials supervisory and support personnel.
  • Conduct daily informal inspections on the shop floor and provide feedback to supervision on observations and corrective actions.
  • Drive root cause identification/failure analysis and corrective actions for HSE, warehouse and logistics related failures.
  • Lead and establish or refine systems or approaches to instill discipline in those that perform work. 
  • Develop, implement and continually improve warehouse management systems.Develop, report, and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) for warehouse and logistics.  
  • Provide periodic metrics on schedule adherence and delivery performance.
  • Introduce the proactive approach to the materials workforce to prevent problems.
  • Represent SYENSQO through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees.
  • Act as Production Manager when requested and during periods of absence.
  • Execute special projects as assigned.
     

You will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (in a Technical, Supply Chain or Business related field) but not required
  • 2-5 years Purchasing, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing Operations related experienceThis position requires high attention to detail, with strong analytical, organization, planning and problem solving skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal  and communication skills to facilitate discussions with all levels of the organization (internal and external)
  • Effective at prioritizing in a multi-task environment - timely follow up on commitments
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment capabilities and constraints
  • Strong knowledge of logistics & transportation modes, including costs and lead time costs set outside plant
  • A well versed understanding of the tactical planning processes 
  • Demand forecasting, production planning & scheduling knowledge a plus
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain processes and SOIP methodology a plus
  • Experience in plant operations, including the requisitioning of supplies and services 
  • Basic understanding of Purchasing and A/P processes 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with varying functional leaders both internally and externally
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detailed operating knowledge of ERP systems including SAP and other work flows and business streams 
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to learn new programs and software as needed
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure and change assignments quickly
  • Must be able to communicate information with others verbally and in written forms
  • Must have good mathematical skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Must read and understand written procedures (SOP's) and/or verbal instruction
  • Ability to take ownership for general processes/products
  • The ability to meet deadlines and targets
  • Must have basic understanding of Production Schedules
     

You will get:

 

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,000.00 to $113,000.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives

Additional information:

 

  • Onsite position at our Shreveport, Louisiana site
  • This is a dayshift position. Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal daylight work schedule to include, but not limited to, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice. 
  • Ability to be On Call; must be ready to work remotely at a moment’s notice. 
  • Available to work all shifts as needed.
