Our aircraft materials are delivering the performance and manufacturing requirements of aerospace and defense customers around the world. The Rock Hill, SC carbon fiber site is recruiting for a Production Engineer to be a part of the Syensqo team in the production of carbon fiber.

 

Production Engineer – Syensqo Rock Hill

 

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The Production Engineer is responsible for providing technician leadership support to ensure currently defined processes meet or exceed production targets in terms of HSE, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery by leading improvement initiatives to optimize processes through the lean/six sigma process.

 

  • Lead Process owner for the production line ensuring process parameters of existing process are in statistical control.
  • Leads the direct day-to-day technical troubleshooting for the production line and on-call off hours to assist in resolving production issues.
  • Ensures asset utilization metrics such as overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), cycle time, downtime are tracked, recorded and deviations to standard are being actioned.
  • Assures clearly defined procedures and instructions are documented and issued to support the improvements developed by Process Engineers.
  • Evaluates daily performance and identifies and eliminates special cause variations.
  • Investigates and provides Accounting with detailed explanations of noted production variances on closed production orders.
  • Develop systems for measuring and reporting performance vs. productivity and quality goals.
  • Leads investigation and defines corrective actions for closed job variances.
  • Maintains and manages routing effectiveness, bills-of-materials, routings, scrap, yield, and other aspects of product configuration.
  • Works directly with Production Teams to ensure the production line conforms to the Quality System and customer requirements.
  • Maintains, develops, and updates all control documents such as standard operating procedures, production logs, and quality records.
  • Investigates and proposes corrective actions for quality upsets identified by Quality Engineers.
  • Transfers engineering instructions for trials and non-standard products into an executable plan.
  • Performs hazard analysis and MHA’s along with HSE&E engineers to develop procedures for non-routine tasks.
  • Defines operational guidelines in finite scheduling.
  • Share best operational practices with other Production Engineers.
  • Supports the Syensqo improvement initiatives. and maintains BOM and routings in SAP.
  • Leads continuous/Lean improvement initiatives with a focus on improving customer satisfaction and the efficiency of the production line.
  • Support the Syensqo improvement initiatives and models Syensqo behaviors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's level degree in Engineering required (ME, IE, Textile, ChE).
  • Minimum two years' experience in manufacturing processing environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential to resolve quality and efficiency issues.
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control methodology necessary to maintain operating processes at target limits.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication and ability to function as an individual contributor or as a project team leader.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft/Google required to effectively analyze process data to ensure compliance with established control limits.
  • Experience with statistical software a plus.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience  in process improvements and optimization a plus.
  • An understanding of process flow and how various chemical, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems interact to produce a product of the desired quality in a timely and cost-effective manner.

 

You will get:

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $78,800.00 to $118,200.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
