We are looking for:

A qualified Maintenance Superintendent for our Piedmont, SC location.  This role is responsible for providing leadership over the site maintenance team to ensure effective use of people, resources, materials, and equipment.  This position is responsible for managing the maintenance staff of Supervisors, Planners, Schedulers, Specialists, and embedded contractors in a manner that will safely achieve operational objectives of the organization.  The Maintenance Superintendent reports to the Piedmont Engineering & Maintenance Manager.

 

We can count on you for:

  • Manage maintenance staff responsible for work execution and on-site supervisors of embedded contractors.

  • Enforce department compliance with all site safety, health, environmental, and quality standards and procedures.

  • Plan, develop, and implement maintenance methods and procedures designed to improve HSE performance, optimize production, minimize operating costs, and enhance utilization of labor and materials.

  • Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.

  • Review the work order management process on a periodic basis and recommend changes for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure that all maintenance related tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.

  • Manage maintenance employee hiring, performance, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

  • Develop and maintain employee training and progression plans

  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance team by:

    • Setting the expectations and priorities for the area maintenance team

    • Assessing craft skills/capabilities and identifying/arranging training

    • Promoting employee engagement, teamwork, and innovation

    • Leading and developing (skill and leadership) of hourly personnel

    • Partnering with production to improve on-stream time and unit/asset reliability

  • Utilize CMMS system data to promote long term efficiencies

  • Provide leadership for the planning, scheduling, and execution of safe and efficient plant maintenance turnarounds.

  • Encourage good housekeeping practices in the shops and throughout the facility.

You will bring:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent (Associate or Bachelor Degree a plus)

  • 5-10 years or more of industrial maintenance experience (chemical/refinery and PSM experience preferred)

  • 3 years or more of supervisory experience preferred

  • Proficient in SAP PM/MM modules or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Experience in work order management, preventive and predictive maintenance, asset life cycle management, planning/scheduling, and performance management 

  • Excellent leadership and organization skills to manage, motivate, and develop personnel and to facilitate cooperation between affected departments.

  • Demonstrated effective oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and to work with others in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and through influence.

  • The employee must be trained in the use and be physically able to use the applicable personal protective equipment for specific hazards in the work environment.

 

You will get:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $85,000 - 106,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
