About the role
Our Technical Maintenance and Reliability department, composed of over 100 people supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations through disciplined planning and execution of maintenance activities.
The Surface Maintenance Outage Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and scheduling detailed maintenance outage plans to ensure equipment reliability, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance. You will build comprehensive outage work packages, collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, and ensure planned maintenance shutdowns are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. This position also serves as the backup for the Maintenance Scheduler, supporting the gatekeeping process and helping maintain continuity of routine, planned, and corrective maintenance schedules.
You will be accountable for:

- Outage Planning & Scheduling Excellence: Build long‑term outage schedules and develop equipment strategies and preventative maintenance plans to support asset reliability. Prepare long‑range (annual) and short‑term (weekly/daily) outage schedules aligned with operational priorities.
- Scope Development & Work Preparation: Conduct site walkdowns to validate job scopes, identify hazards, determine permit requirements, and define resource needs. Develop complete work packages, including labor, materials, tools, contractors, and equipment.
- Material & Contractor Coordination: Identify and procure materials, specialized tools, and contractor services. Coordinate delivery schedules to ensure all resources are staged and available prior to outage execution.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance leadership to align outage scope with production requirements and reliability goals. Serve as the secondary scheduling resource to ensure continuity during planner or scheduler absences.
- Execution Support & Continuous Improvement: Facilitate pre‑ and post‑outage reviews, lead lessons‑learned discussions, and provide reports on scope completion, cost performance, and reliability outcomes.
We offer permanent employment based onsite, working a primary 4/10 schedule. Work schedules may change during outages to accommodate business needs.
About you
Minimum of 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience leading, planning, or scheduling large‑scale maintenance outages or shutdowns in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Competencies:

- Strong working knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling tools (SAP, GWOS, Primavera, or similar) and a solid understanding of Work Order Management (WOM) processes.
- Broad technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement in high‑risk industrial environments.

About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The pay range expected for this role is:
$114,000–$140,000 yearly in the United States.
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
