About the role

 

  • Our Process Control team is integrated within the Surface Maintenance department. The Process Control Foreman assists a crew of skilled DCS Technicians. Provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, maintenance and security of plant process automation for Distributive Control Systems (DCS), safety and conventional Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Process Information Management systems (PIMs) and instrumentation to guarantee continuous plant operation and efficient production.   
  • As The Process Control Foreman, you will work designing, constructing, maintaining, and ensuring the reliability of these systems to support our operations. You will get the opportunity to contribute to our ambitious maintenance transformation journey and have a positive impact on our plant's safety, efficiency and cost competitiveness. This job is a critical contributor to the surface Maintenance Department Leadership Team and reports to the Surface Electrical Superintendent.  This role provides direct supervision to four DCS Technicians. 
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Creating a safety culture within the team through clear expectations, positive reinforcement of safe work methods via in-field observations and providing a safe and clean work environment.
    • Responsible for the development and maintenance of process control strategies and standards for two DCS systems, SCADA systems, safety and conventional PLC systems and PIMs.
    • Directs planning, design and execution of process control automation projects and plant modifications.  
    • Supervises, trains and develops process control technicians to effectively support plant control systems for 24/7 coverage and continually improve department productivity.  
    • Provides training to I&E personnel for maintenance and support of process automation systems.  
    • Responds to plant process control emergencies, trouble shoots problems and takes actions to insure plant availability and integrity and reliability. 
    • Provides technical support to engineering, production and I&E departments in the troubleshooting of more difficult plant instrumentation and control issues.
  • We offer permanent employment based onsite, working a 4/10 schedule.

 

About you

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Controls or Chemical Engineering or seven to ten years professional experience in process automation and process control technology is preferred.  
  • Prior experience in chemical plant environment and knowledge of process safety requirements.

About the pay and benefits

 

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the US base pay reasonably expected for this role is $116,000- $135,000, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
