About the role


Our Reliability Team, composed of 13 people, is integrated into the Surface Maintenance department. The Team’s focus is on continuous improvement of our Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by creating proactive and reactive solutions to safely produce Soda Ash & Derivatives. This Team works in close collaboration with Preventive/Predictive Maintenance, Planning, Execution, Lubrication, Surface Production and Group Engineering.
As a Reliability Supervisor, you will ensure maintenance techniques are effective, equipment is designed and modified to improve maintainability, ongoing maintenance technical problems are investigated, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken. You will get the opportunity to contribute technical expertise analyzing and resolving problems on rotating and fixed equipment and have a positive impact on safety, equipment availability, and maintenance costs.
This job is a critical contributor to the surface maintenance department Leadership Team and reports to the Surface Maintenance Leader.  This role provides direct supervision to Mechanical and Reliability Engineers, PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) Technicians, and Lubrication Coordinator.

 

You will be accountable for:

  • Creating a safety culture within the Team through clear expectations, positive reinforcement of safe work via in-field observations and providing a safe and clean work environment.
  • Directing training and development of Reliability resources through technical education, on the job training and coaching focused on safe and efficient work execution. Specifically responsible for assessing and directing development of leaders within the Reliability organization.
  • Directing all maintenance and engineering activity within the scope of the surface plant Reliability function.  This will include both routine maintenance activity and improvement projects.  Specifically, performing proactive audits and inspection on equipment and directing correction of any deficiencies.  Plus design, approval, installation and commissioning of reliability improvement projects. Must assure that the Reliability Team is appropriately staffed to meet business needs.
  • Driving process, practice and skills innovations within the Reliability Team in support of the company maintenance excellence program (Solmax) focused on Safety, Volume and Productivity goals. By assuring effective planning and coordination of reliability maintenance activities with a continual focus on improvement of employee productivity.  Proactively driving reliability improvements through elimination of bad actors.  And assuring preventive and predictive maintenance programs are efficient, effective and executed per schedule.  
  • We offer permanent employment based onsite, working a  4/10 schedule.

 

About you

 

  • Relevant education degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (BS or MS)
  • Relevant work experience: 10+ years in Soda Ash Production, Petro-chemical, Power Generation, Cement, Chemical, or similar industries as a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer in Industrial Maintenance or Plant Engineering.  Prior leadership experience is desired.

About the pay and benefits

 

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the US base pay reasonably expected for this role is $140,000 - $170,000, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
