HSE Manager (F/M/X)

 About the role

• Our Chicago Heights team, composed of 40 people, is integrated in the Silica department and focuses on the production and delivery of quality Silica products.

• As a Health Safety and Environmental Manager , you will be responsible for the management of the health, safety and environmental activities at the site in a compliant manner, including the application of the Solvay Life Saving Rules.

• You will be accountable for:

  • Ensuring that the site complied with HSEPT (Health Safety Environmental Process and Transport) regulations and laws, taking the necessary steps in the event of non conformities

  • Setting up the emergency response plans and the corresponding trainings

  • Working with the managers of each sector and define and keep track of HSE objectives for progress

  • Being the main point of contact for all HSE topics onsite

  • Acting as the site contact person for official authorities

• We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

About you

• Relevant education degree or equivalent in chemical engineering

• Relevant work experience in a chemical plant

• Competencies:

  • Understanding of basic chemistry

  • HSE experience

  • Lead auditor experience for 14001, 9001 is a plus

• Behaviors:

  • Managerial skills

  • Hands on, the role require to spend time on the field

  • Good communication, ability to impact

About the pay and benefits

• Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country (US) base pay reasonably expected for this role is 124 000 USD to 155 000 USD, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
