Emulsion Polymerization Specialist

We are looking for:

• Emulsion Polymerization Specialist is a full time position to support the Coatings business segment of NovaCare at the R&I Center in Bristol, Pa. The position is devoted to the support of emulsion polymerization group via applying current technologies and existing products in new applications as well as supporting the development of new products for various applications in waterborne formulations.

We count on you for:

• Be responsible for leading development projects to support latex polymers (binders) for waterborne formulations, including architectural paints, industrial coatings, and adhesives.
• Lead the technical development of new products in surfactants, specialty monomers, additives and polymers for waterborne systems.
• Develop new applications with existing technologies.
• Conduct emulsion polymerization and perform testing for latex characterizations. 
• Provide technical training and technical support to customers and business teams.
• Understand market needs for new products, identify key opportunities with customers and initiate new projects.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area and follow safety policies and standards. 

You will bring:

• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science. Higher degrees will be considered as well. 
• 5-10+ years of experience in polymer synthesis especially latex synthesis.
• Strong experience working with products and technologies in emulsion polymerizations.
• Experience in waterborne formulations like coatings and adhesives is a plus.
• Customer support and technical service experience with surfactants and monomers for waterborne paint applications is preferred.
• Strong team player and excellent collaboration skill.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $103,306 to $129,132 per year.
• Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
• Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
