The HR functions’ People Engagement Journey (PEJ) approach ensures a culture that has four guiding principles: leader-led, transformational, value-driven and purposeful.

 

We are looking for:

  • The Country & Site HR Partner functions are key to this as members of the North American "Connect" team and play a crucial role in delivering new systems and programs for our customers and HR to use, and ensuring consistency and compliance in HR through intimate connections to Syensqo's people, businesses, and functions at a local level.

 

We count on you for:

  • Support the Materials business’s Anaheim, CA site, which is a large, unionized and a critical site. 
  • Support employees (including leaders) in Moments that Matter: both professional (career & development) and personal development. The covered population of employees exceeds 200.
  • Manage Labor Relations on a day-to-day level, i.e. contract administration and handling grievances/arbitration.
  • Partner with Site Leadership and Managers to advise on people topics (talent, organization, performance, development) and initiatives.
  • Direct communication channel to Strategic Business Partners.
  • Support Global People Solutions project work on an as-needed basis.
  • This position supervises one HR administrator on site.

 

You will bring:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related business field.
  • 10+ years of experience in an HR-related role supporting a large and complex unionized manufacturing site.
  • Extensive knowledge of California law.
  • Experience in the administration of HR policies and programs (e.g., performance management, compensation, benefits, etc.).
  • Day to day labor relations experience - contract interpretation and administration, grievances and arbitrations, working with union reps and committees.
  • Prior experience managing people is desired.
  • Prior experience with organizational change, such as new approaches to HR, leadership, and people and functional resources deployment.
  • Human Resources disciplines, e.g., management and employee coaching and counseling, compensation, benefits, performance management, discipline, learning, recruitment.
  • Knowledge and experience with legal and ethical compliance.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and experience with labor unions.
  • Knowledge of employment laws.
  • Passion for building relationships and employee relations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influence skills.
  • Effective consulting and coaching skills.
  • Ability to relate well to all levels of employees, such as executives, managers, individual contributors, and especially blue collar hourly employees.
  • Must have an openness to learning and understanding Syensqo's innovative people-centric programs.
  • Innovative and open mindedness.

 

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $133,000.00 to $190,000.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
