We are looking for:
- The "CTD Engieer - E&I / Semicon" sits within our Customer Technical Development function within Solvay Specialty Polymers and designed to provide strong technical expertise and value to our customers by leveraging the entire product portfolio, resources, and know-how of the GBU.
- Solvay Specialty Polymers is looking for creative, curious self-starters and leaders interested in non-routine challenges to join the Technical Development team and support semiconductor applications in North America.
- You will be responsible for providing technical application development expertise to customers and will interact with the internal organization (commercial teams, application development team, R&D, Manufacturing, etc.) to develop total customer solutions.
We count on you for:
- You will work directly with customers in collaboration with the sales and marketing to identify & develop application opportunities where Solvay’s specialty polymers add value and solve customer problems.
- Elicit a complete set of customer requirements and develop the value proposition of Syensqo materials.
- Work directly with the Global CTD community and our Research and Development teams, to lead the development and implementation of solutions for customer applications. This includes polymer material recommendation and validation, design support for metal to plastic conversion, prototyping support, tooling design recommendations, testing, and processing assistance.
- Provide technical training and literature for both internal and external use about designing with polymers, polymer selection, polymer processing, virtual engineering simulation, and prototyping.
- Champion sustainability solutions.
- Collaboratively interact and share expertise with the global CTD team, and create technical marketing literature.

You will bring:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent applicable technical degree
- 5+ years of experience in a technical position working with polymers: knowledge of polymer physics, material selection, and processing
- Experience in semiconductor applications/customers/tiers is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude, experience in part and tooling design and failure analysis
Skills
- Hands-on experience working with polymers in a manufacturing environment (extrusion, injection molding, compression molding)
- Ability to execute projects with short life cycles
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively to build deep relationships with both external customers and within a global team
- Strong communication skills & customer-focus

You will get:
- Competitive salary - The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $108,000 to $135,000. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
