We are looking for:
As the Cloud Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the new Cloud environment for Syensqo as well as the transformation of the existing on-premises ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to architect and shape the future of our cloud infrastructure.
We count on you for:
- Overseeing and managing cloud infrastructure (such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services to ensure optimal performance, availability and security
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources to manage costs and improve efficiency, working hand-in-hand with FinOps Manager
- Ensuring the implementation and maintenance of backup, recovery and failover strategies
- Manage daily cloud operations, monitoring, incident response with a team of cloud engineers and production support engineers
- Collaborate with IT Product managers, service owners and application owners to resolve operational issues with the team of cloud engineers
- Ensure security and compliance are maintained by CISO and remediations are well implemented in a timely manner with the team of cloud engineers
- Identify areas for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and reduce manual workloads
- Work with senior management to develop and implement a long-term cloud strategy aligned with business goals
- Assess new cloud technologies and service offerings and recommend improvements or migrations when needed
- Ensure documentation is maintained for cloud infrastructure, processes and security protocols
- Provide regular reports on cloud system performance, incidents and compliance status
- Present metrics and performance reports to executive management, highlighting key accomplishments and areas for improvement
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications would be a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cloud operations or cloud infrastructure management, preferably in a multinational complex setting, with 2+ years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing Cloud strategies for large user bases.
- Experience in managing complex technology migrations and lifecycle management.
- Project management skills to plan and execute cloud-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
- Agile or other project management methodologies experience is a plus
- Strong proficiency in designing, validating and implementing Cloud solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles, practices and tools (e.g. Gitlab)
- Working knowledge of containers and orchestrations (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Cloud networking and security patterns
- Experience with code versioning systems such as Git, CI/CD frameworks and scripting languages (bash, Python, Typescript)
Cybersecurity Expertise:
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and frameworks.
- Knowledge of encryption, identity management, access controls, and other security measures within cloud environments.
