About the role
Our Digital Enablement team, composed of 5 people, is integrated in the Solvay Transformation Office department and focuses on Digital Transformation in collaboration with Solvay's Functions and Business Units.
As a Senior Generative AI & Agentic Systems Data Scientist, you will work on Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and especially cutting-edge Agentic AI technologies in Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
You will explore and implement Agentic AI frameworks to enable autonomous decision-making and multi-step reasoning in AI systems; build and fine-tune LLMs for domain-specific applications, ensuring scalability and performance; design, develop, and deploy advanced ML models, GenAI & AgenticAI solutions to solve complex business problems; collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven solutions into enterprise workflows; stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, contributing to innovation and thought leadership within the organization; while ensuring compliance with ethical AI practices, data governance, and security standards.
You will be accountable for:
- Responsibilities include project management and technical implementation in designing scalable data pipelines, managing secure environments, and preparing data for the AI models.
- Ensuring the collection of consistent data and the preparation of data models including time-series, classification, optimization, prediction and recommendation algorithms.
- Process Enhancement by providing an operational workplace to the users; and building Agentic AI features to improve operational processes.
- Maintenance of overall data models and applications.
- Monitor data load jobs; perform evolutions to data models, analysis, operational workplace upon request.
- Participate in upskilling a federated CoE network of citizen developers around the company.

About you
- Relevant education degree or equivalent in Business Informatics, Data Science and AI or Computer Science.
- Relevant work experience of at least 5+ years in Data science, GenAI & Agentic AI-focused roles with data engineering as plus.
- Technical Expertise:
- Practical knowledge and experience in Agentic AI architectures, multi-agent systems, and autonomous workflows in Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (Azure AI Foundry, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, LangChain).
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI models (e.g., GPT, diffusion models) and LLM fine-tuning.
- Competencies:
- Fluency in English.
- Celonis PQL language is a plus.
- Ability to translate business challenges into AI solutions.
- Strong background in statistics, optimization, and algorithm design.
- Proven experience in Data Science, Big Data.
- Experience with cloud platforms (mainly Azure, but other is a plus AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF).
- Data Mining, Process Mining and SQL databases and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load).

About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is:
- € 46720 - € 58400 per year in Lisbon, Portugal
- R$ 206640 - R$ 258300 per year in Curitiba, Brazil
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
