Safety Data Sheets and Transport Expert (F/M/X)

 

 

About the role

The Product Regulations and Stewardship (PRS) - Operations Team team supports Solvay's global business by managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product labels, certificates, and regulatory product information. The team works closely with Global Product Stewards, Hazard Communication, Toxicology, and Compliance experts to ensure regulatory compliance across the portfolio. The team consists of 6 members based in Portugal and France. 

As a Safety Data Sheets and Transport Expert you will manage product regulatory data and ensure compliance with global requirements for classification, labeling, transport, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). You will partner with Global Product Stewards to implement product regulatory changes and you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal procedures. This role directly reports to the PRS Operations Manager. 

 

You will be accountable for: 

• Maintain chemical composition and product data in SAP-EHS. 

• Determine product classification and labeling according to regulatory requirements. 

• Prepare, maintain, and periodically review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in line with Solvay standards and regulatory requirements.  

• Assess regulatory changes and update SDS documentation accordingly. 

• Determine transport classifications for road, rail, inland waterways, air, and sea transport. 

• Author and maintain European Exposure Scenarios. 

 

We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode (2 days a week at the office). 

 

About you

Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Science, or a related field. Experience in Regulatory Affairs, Safety Data Sheets, Product Stewardship, or similar.

 

Competencies:

• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets regulations and requirements as well as SAP EH&S is an advantage

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English

• Strong analytical skills

• Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment

About the pay

• Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Portugal base pay reasonably expected for this role is X to X, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
