About the role

  • Our Enterprise Architecture  team is integrated in the Digital Technology department.
  • As an Enterprise Architect, you will work on developing IT strategy and roadmaps, building relationships, and orchestrating business outcomes into architectural decisions. Also, you will get the opportunity to contribute to implement strategic plans and have a positive impact on Solvay’s overarching business goals using technology.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Developing IT strategy, guide execution, and help the organization respond to disruptive forces. You'll align business and IT, connect strategy to execution, and drive digital business strategies. Your role includes translating business strategy into IT implementation roadmaps and ensuring successful execution while fostering innovation and growth.
    • Building and maintaining relationships, ensuring it is designed to formulate, translate, and execute business strategy. You will build a consulting services portfolio to support business needs and provide consultative advice to business leaders for investment decisions. Additionally, you will lead interactions with business leaders and IT, fostering a collaborative community of architects and guiding transformation initiatives.
    • Orchestrating business outcomes, analyzing future-state capabilities and the current IT environment, detect critical gaps and opportunities, and recommend solutions for improvement. You'll identify organizational requirements to support enterprise architecture and ensure efficient and effective business and IT operating models, leading to significantly improved results.
    • Facilitating innovation, assessing disruptive forces affecting the organization, identifying technology-enabled innovation opportunities, and contextualizing trends to enhance strategic decision-making. Your role includes scanning emerging technologies and providing practical advice on new opportunities. You'll manage the execution of innovations, including running pilots for new products and services and integrating the best of these into steady-state operations.
    • Planning and managing the IT portfolio, maintaining alignment and integration of architecture activities across different programs, projects, and products. Your role includes presenting gap analyses and IT investment roadmaps, leading the development of an enterprise architecture implementation plan, and supporting solutions design. You will collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture and leverage shared technologies and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
  • We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode.


About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture or IT Strategy Architecture is required. Consulting experience is preferred. TOGAF certification is also preferred. Experience in the chemical industry is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Competencies:
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that align team objectives with organizational goals, ensuring cohesive and coordinated efforts across departments.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage, communicate, and collaborate effectively with executive leadership (C-level) to drive strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.
    • Proven ability to foster agreement and cooperation among diverse teams and stakeholders, effectively navigating differing perspectives to achieve common goals.
    • Skilled in managing sensitive situations and negotiations with tact and professionalism, maintaining positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Behaviors:
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams, prioritize tasks, and align team efforts to achieve multiple perspectives and objectives.
    • Proven experience collaborating with senior business leaders and Digital Technology Leader (DTL) to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment and fostering a cohesive working environment from senior leadership to entry-level staff.


About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Portugal base pay reasonably expected for this role is 71 000 euros to 89 000 euros, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
