About the role

  • Our Accounting Platform (ACP), composed of 54 people, is integrated in the Finance Department, focusing on accounting and reporting for financial closure in collaboration with other Service Units and local teams. 
  • Our Financial Accounting (FAC) team, composed of 44 people, is integrated in the Finance Department, focusing on Intercompany and Service Invoicing, performing internal and external controls, in collaboration with Service Units and non-Solvay actors.
  • Our Accounts Payable team (AP), composed of 152 people, is integrated in the Procurement Department focusing on invoice postings and accounts reconciliations in collaboration with other Accounts Payable Units.
  • As a Company Accounting Trainee, you will support Global Businesses, Functions and Corporate for decision making, by providing user friendly financial reports (Balance sheets, Cash Flow, Profit and Loss statements), compliant with legal and Group requirements, through standardized, automated and streamlined processes with best efficiency, while also performing Intercompany Accounting, and Accounts reconciliations.

 

You will be accountable for:

 

  • Supporting  the closure run for a given legal entity according to closing timetable, analyzing, solving blocking matters and assist the release of financial package for consolidation;
  • Performing accounting operations, according to Company Accounting Manager/Director (CAM/CAD) requests, in line with accounting standards and closing deadlines;
  • Managing intercompany transactions and intercompany accounting, policies and communication of company-wide reconciliations for intercompany accounts activity
  • Setting prices for these transactions or commissions, monitoring the prices to achieve arm’s length results at the year-end
  • Comply with international tax and transfer pricing regulations at legal entity level
  • Posting group invoices (Leasing/cars/Expatriates..) and payments while ensuring accounts reconciliation following group instructions.

 

  • This is a 1-year rotational internship with a duration of 4 months in each team 
  • We offer a 12-month Internship contract based on a hybrid working mode.

 

About you

  • Relevant education degree or equivalent in accounting or finance

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. Portugal's base pay range for this role is 940 EUR up to 1040 EUR a month, based on your academic background. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
