About the role

  • Our Accounting & Reporting team, composed of 4 people, is integrated in the Finance department and focuses on Local Accounting and Tax Compliance in collaboration with the Corporate Finance and Corporate GTax.
  • As a Company Accounting Manager and Tax Compliance Expert, you will support the business performance of Legal Entity by delivering reliable financial statements and providing advice in accounting and tax transactions, given the financial impact of the performance. You will get the opportunity to contribute to compliance and have a positive impact on the Solvay group.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Manage activities related to the preparation and control of the main tax and statutory obligations
    • Check the process by auditing the accounts on the entire Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss range
    • Guarantee local compliance and oversee the internal control to ensure the reliability of the financial statement, and ensure that corrective actions coming from audit reports are implemented
    • Manage relations with the auditing company, the board of statutory auditors and the external consultants
    • Manage a strong relationship with the Shared Services Centre.
    • Ensure the Local Tax Compliance
    • Inform and train all the stakeholders about changes in rules and procedures regarding direct and indirect (mainly VAT) taxes in the country
    • Interact with the EMEA Corporate Tax Manager and external Tax Consultants during tax audit or fiscal authorities’ inspection, tax reporting group deadlines, tax forecast and budgeting analysis
    • Preparation, filing and submission of Local Direct Taxes returns
    • Ensure tax reporting management according to IFRS rules and manage the relevant cash forecast
    • Local support to the Shared Service Centre about Indirect Taxes (mainly VAT: changes in rules, tax audits and advice on business)
    • Support and coordinate Local Transfer Pricing Documentation (aligned with the corporate figures provided by the relevant Service Unit)
  • We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode.

 

About you

  • Relevant education degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • Relevant work experience in Big Four accounting firms or within modernly organized multinational companies
  • Competencies:
    • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and the main types of tax returns, as well as strong tax expertise in local rules
    • Strong Accounting experience and a high level of knowledge in local GAAP & IFRS 
    • Previous experiences of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) deals and CPA (Abilitazione Albo Dottore Commercialista e Revisore Legale dei Conti) are a plus
  • Behaviors:
    • Ability to understand systems’ architecture and strong IT tools knowledge in SAP ERP, BFC and Microsoft Office
    • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in an international environment
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written) – a good knowledge of French will be appreciated

 

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While Italy’s base pay reasonably expected for this role is 41,280 EUR to 61,920 EUR, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
