About the role
Our Silica R&I team, composed of 60 people, is integrated in the Silica Business Strategy & Innovation department and focuses on tire innovation products, process improvements and environmental footprint reduction, in collaboration with GBU Technology, Manufacturing and Industrial Functions.
As an R&I Process Engineer, you will work on circularity, alternative & renewable raw materials, and carbon‑neutral process improvements to support the development and industrialization of sustainable silica solutions. You will get the opportunity to contribute to innovation grades, industrialization projects, and environmental performance improvements, and have a positive impact on our long‑term carbon‑neutral roadmap. You will be accountable for:

Ensure HSE compliance, maintain a safe work environment and contribute to safety activities and investment recommendations.

Collaborate with synthesis/process engineering teams to improve global chemical processes through deep understanding of existing processes and new insights.

Manage industrialization projects supporting sustainable solutions, grade transfers and innovation grades.

Define CAPEX & OPEX, contribute to plant selection, setup or modification requirements, and coordinate FMEA.

Drive short, mid and long‑term projects to reduce costs, improve environmental footprint and animate the R&I industrial support platform.
We offer a permanent onsite contract at our Collonges‑au‑Mont‑d’Or R&I facilities.
About you
Relevant education degree or equivalent in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering (ENSIACET, ENSIC…). Relevant work experience in industrial process environments (5–10+ years).
Competencies :

Solid process engineering skills from research to industrial scale (precipitation, solid/liquid separation, drying…).

Experience in DOE (Design of Experiments), data analysis and process optimization.

Practical knowledge in powder technology (implementation, shaping, characterization) is a strong plus.

About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is € 53840 – € 67300 per year in France.
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
