About the role

 

The Silica R&I team, comprising around sixty employees within the Strategy, Business & Innovation Department, focuses on the development of innovative products for the tire market, the processes required to manufacture them, and the reduction of environmental footprint (CO₂ emissions reduction, increased use of renewable raw materials, etc.). For our laboratory located at the Aubervilliers Research & Innovation Center, we are looking for a Mineral Synthesis Engineer to contribute to these activities.

 

You will be accountable for:

 

  • Team management: Lead a team of 4 people. You will provide technical guidance, support the development of their skills, and foster their career growth.
  • Propose and execute research and innovation projects related to the identification and implementation of new raw materials, as well as the development of innovative products.
  • Take responsibility for laboratory activities, define testing programs to address technical challenges, and collaborate closely with other teams (analytical, process, application, industrial, etc.).
  • Analyze data and interpret experimental results; implement and/or develop appropriate digital tools to effectively structure and centralize analytical data.
  • Ensure compliance with and promote HSE and quality requirements, participate in 5S and laboratory safety initiatives, and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Monitor patents and scientific literature related to the activity and establish relevant collaborations with external partners.

 

We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you

 

PhD in Inorganic Chemistry with strong expertise in the characterization of inorganic mineral materials (particle size and texture, surface chemistry, etc.). Proven experience in mineral synthesis.

 

Competencies:

  • Previous experience in team management.
  • Experience in digitalization projects or Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
  • Fluent English, with the ability to communicate regularly in both written and spoken form with international teams.

About the pay

 

Attractive and equitable compensation for all: pay is determined within a salary range designed to support your growth in the role. The expected base salary for this position is €64,400 - €80,500 per year in France.

Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
