About the role

  • Our Project and Engineering team for APAC (Asia-Pacific), composed of ~10 people, is integrated in the Projects department and focuses on engineering and delivering capital investment projects in collaboration with EPCM contractors and Solvay Business units .

  • The Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in supporting project managers on GEC projects by leading process  activities, and providing technical assistance to our production sites in the region.

  • The Senior Process Engineer role will also provide support to corporate process engineering in Europe and site-level teams, driving standardization and action plans within various production sites.

  • Process engineering is critical to achieving high levels of safety and reliability at our production sites. We are dedicated to implementing solutions that are safe, sustainable, and have a minimal environmental footprint.

  • As Senior Process engineer, you will be responsible for managing the assigned engineering scope, interface with Engineering Contractors and Project Team  and will communicate progress to the Engineering and Project Manager

  • You will report to Solvay’s Senior PM and Engineering Team leader

  • You will be accountable for:

    • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all installations align with operational needs and safety standards, both during design and execution.

    • Corporate Interaction: Engage closely with the head of Corporate Domain to ensure coordinated alignment of technical project goals and standards.

    • Project Support: Assist construction project teams with process engineering topics.

    • Capex project process engineering activities and deliverables and design coordination (conception/preliminary/basic study and detail design coordination as well as field construction/commissioning/start-up support)

    • Technical assistance for Solvay plant sites in Asia Pacific (process technical support and troubleshooting)

    • Managing approach and preliminary design studies, in which you will be responsible for the full deliverable according to the Solvay GEC engineering design standards in collaboration with head office.

    • project management coordination role for the early engineering stages(mainly approach FEL-1 phase)

    • Key contact with the CDI for small project 

    • Knowledge Sharing: Coordinate with the AP network of production specialists to foster experience exchange and best practices.

  • We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode.

  • Travel is anticipated to be ~30% but will vary with project complexity, project phase and resource availability. Travel both domestic and international will be required.

 

About you

  • Relevant education degree (Msc)  or equivalent inProcess Engineering discipline is required. 

  • Relevant work experience (minimum history of 10 years) in  Chemical Industrial Process Technology domain in an engineering group or foreign client company, including experience with CAPEX projects.

  • Preferably Experienced in chemical process engineering as well as commissioning/start-up support to plant

  • Competencies:

    • autonomous on Process Design (issue of heat/mass balances, rating and design of process equipment) 

    • Familiarity with engineering tools

      • Aspen Plus, including EDR and Aspen Batch

      • Autocad, for the issue of PFD's and P&IDs

    • Knowledge of Process Safety methodologies and reglementation (HAZOP, ATEX ….)- 

    • Knowledge of reserve osmosis, ion-exchange or H2O2 technology is an advantage

    • Project leadership skills will be a plus

    • good command of English language (both oral and written)

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the China base pay reasonably expected for this role is 425,440 to 531,800 CNY, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
