About the role
Our Breakthrough Innovation team, composed of 7 people, is integrated in the Peroxides R&I department and focuses on breakthrough developments and decarbonization in collaboration with external technology providers, academia, and internal engineering/production teams.
As a Breakthrough Innovation Researcher (Autoxidation alternatives), you will work on identifying, screening and assessing next-generation technologies for the manufacture of hydrogen peroxide, conducting rigorous techno-economic analyses, and mapping the strategic path to industrial scale-up to support Solvay's technology and market leadership. Your goal is to provide strategic recommendations for early/mid-stage research that position our company at the forefront of sustainable hydrogen peroxide production, unlocking new markets. This position will be focused on the Asia region. You will be accountable for:

Acquiring a deep understanding of the technologies to manufacture hydrogen peroxide beyond the autoxidation process, markets, and raw materials used 
- 
Proposing innovative hypotheses and developing novel chemical routes or formulations to overcome technical challenges inherent in the new technology, assessing the scalability and economic viability of new chemical processes. 
- 
Engaging with strategic external partners (universities, research institutes, private companies) to accelerate innovation, securing external funding where applicable 
- 
Complete techno-economic assessments and stage-gate project execution for the most promising alternatives. Mass and energy balances, block diagrams, PFD, P&ID, cash flow, and sensitivity analysis of different business cases.

Mapping the region to enable a successful technology scale-up, ensuring a smooth transition towards industrialization

About you
Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Relevant work experience in technology assessment. Competencies:

About the pay
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is:

CNY 320,240 - 531,800 per year in China 
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
