We are looking for:

A qualified Electrical and Instrumentation Technician. 

 

We can count on you for:

  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&ID’s, loop sheets, vendor instructions and work specifications.
  • Install and maintain low and medium voltage electrical distribution and control equipment up to 13,800 volts.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair solid state and electro-mechanical controls and pneumatic control instrumentation and valving.
  • Have a working knowledge of safety valves, conservation vents and rupture disks.
  • Lay out, design and construct control cabinets and panels.
  • Interface with outside vendors and/or contractors for technical assistance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with job scheduling and material specification.
  • Responsible for tracking time with associated work orders during scheduled shift.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

You will bring:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of industrial experience with 5+ years preferred.
  • Must be certified Instrumentation Technician (447A). Dual certification as a certified Industrial Electrician (442A) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Distributive Control Systems (DCS).
  • Working knowledge of PLC and motor control troubleshooting.
  • Be familiar with a wide range of instrumentation.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems for interfacing with electrical and instrument equipment plus computerized maintenance management system.
  • Knowledge of digital smart transmitter technology.
  • Experience working with installations up to 13,800V is preferred
  • Familiarity with Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
