About the role 

 

Our Maintenance Engineering & Reliability team, composed of 23 people, is integrated into the Maintenance Department and focuses on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through continuous improvement by creating root cause analysis and proactive solutions in collaboration with Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and production availability. 

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be technically responsible for the reliability of the assets on the site. You will work with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations, optimizing Life Cycle Costs and support in the definition of Asset Maintenance and Spare Parts Strategies. 

You will be accountable for: 

  • Develop and implement technical solutions aligned with internal customer needs to enhance asset reliability, productivity and availability. 

  • Perform advanced performance analyses (MTBF, MTTR, failure rates, historical costs) and define corrective and preventive actions. 

  • Prepare detailed technical scopes for maintenance, inspection and engineering services, ensuring compliance and technical accuracy. 

  • Identify and mitigate operational threats to asset reliability, ensuring operational continuity, safety and reduction of critical risks. 

  • Lead equipment criticality assessments considering OEE impact, safety, quality and life‑cycle cost. 

  • Ensure robust analysis of historical failure and performance data, generating insights for technical and strategic decisions. 

  • Review inspection reports and failure events, recommending actions based on reliability engineering principles. 

  • Serve as a technical reference in capital projects, defining reliability and maintainability requirements and validating technical deliverables. 

  • Conduct benchmarking and recommend new technologies, methodologies and tools to improve reliability performance. 

  • Develop and update reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) strategies. 

  • Facilitate technical sessions such as RCM, FMEA, FMECA, FTA and Six Sigma workshops. 

  • Apply quantitative reliability methods for risk assessment, failure prediction and engineering decision‑making. 

  • Lead and contribute to reliability committees, present results and align actions with operations and maintenance. 

  • Plan and execute RAM (Reliability & Maintenance) studies to optimize performance of critical assets and systems. 

 

We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode. 

 

About you 

 

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant 

  • CREA registered 

  • At least 8 years of experience in technical areas of industrial engineering/maintenance 

  • Competencies: 

    • Reliability-centered maintenance. Experience with the use of structured tools and methodologies applied to failure reduction, reliability increase and variability reduction (RCM, FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.) 

  • Problem-solving experience in rotating equipment 

  • Advanced English (preference) 

  • Behaviors:

About the pay and benefits 

 

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Brazil base pay reasonably expected for this role is R$ 171,200.00 to R$ 214,000.00 ("Periculosidade"/Hazard allowance and 13th salary already included). Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
