About the role


Our Design Office department is composed of 10 engineers and focuses on leading engineering studies for major investment projects (4-100 M€) within the Solvay Group, in collaboration with GBU Project Directors, Cost Estimate teams, and external engineering companies.

 

As a Senior Civil & Structure Engineering Leader, for major Investment projects of the group, you will be responsible for leading the Civil & Structure studies (from FEL 2 to EXE ), overseeing external engineering companies responsible for project studies, challenging them to control design quality and future execution costs. You ensure that the deliverables deadlines are met.
For the Asset Performance program, you perform preliminary assessment of existing structures and become the preferred partner of our internal client (GBU) to develop strategic maintenance and repair plans

 

You will be accountable for:

  • Leading engineering activities for various scopes, including earthworks, roads, civil works, and structural steel works.
  • Preparing and issuing project documents in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and external engineering companies.
  • Reviewing and following up on deliverables, planning, and construction sequences from engineering contractors.
  • Developing sustainable and efficient solutions and carrying out study works autonomously.
  • Staying up with the standards, guidelines and new techniques and development in the CSE discipline

We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode, with international travel expected up to 20% of the time.

 

About you

 

Relevant education degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with a Master's degree. Relevant work experience in the design of concrete and steel structures, with experience in industrial projects considered an asset.

 

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of civil and structural design software.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

About the pay

 

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Belgium base pay reasonably expected for this role is 84000€ to 105000€, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
