About the role


Our Process Intensification team, to be created with 6 team members within the Research & Innovation (R&I) department, will focus on achieving significant energy and CAPEX reductions through technical leadership, expertise in equipment design, and strong collaborations with internal engineering teams, plant operations, and external partners (academic institutions and technology providers).

As a Process Intensification Manager, you will work on recruiting, leading, and managing a technical team, driving the development of process intensification technologies for auto-oxidation (AO) processes and spearheading the design and improvement of critical process equipment to support the Global Business Unit’s (GBU’s) target in achieving significant energy and CAPEX reductions. You will get the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology development and implementation and have a positive impact on utilities consumption, heat integration, product/raw material quality, and plant capacities. 

You will be accountable for: 

  • Recruiting, leading, and managing a team of engineers and scientists focused on process intensification.

  • Driving the identification, evaluation, and development of process intensification technologies.

  • Spearheading the design and improvement of critical process equipment (reactors and separation technologies).

  • Fostering close collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensuring all team projects are executed safely and in compliance with process safety standards


We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a relevant field. 
  • Relevant work experience ( > 6 years) in chemical process equipment intensification for energy consumption and CAPEX reduction, leading and guiding a technical team.


Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of chemical engineering principles with a strong focus on equipment design.

  • In-depth knowledge and proven experience in chemical process equipment intensification.

  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading technical projects.

About the pay


Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is €110,400  - €138,000 per year in Belgium. Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. 

Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
