About the role


Our Research team, composed of 30 people, is integrated in the Research & Innovation department and focuses on maintaining our leading-edge technology and making process improvements in collaboration with different sectors of the AO process and the wider GBU's R&I network.

As a Process Improvement Technologist, you will work on developing catalysts and running analysis (poison tests, activity tests, etc.), understanding the interactions within the AO process, and troubleshooting and maintaining lab set-ups to support the GBU’s target for process efficiency and technological leadership. You will get the opportunity to contribute to fundamental research and plant/industrial support and have a positive impact on the efficiency and sustainability of the AO process.

You will be accountable for:

  • Developing and analyzing catalysts and running micropilots.
  • Actively contributing to projects aimed at improving the efficiency of the AO process.
  • Writing comprehensive reports in an autonomous way.
  • Performing all relevant lab experiments.
  • Ensuring the troubleshooting and maintenance of lab set-ups and analytical equipment.

We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you


Relevant education degree or equivalent in Chemistry with at least 10 years of experience in chemical research.
Relevant work experience in chemical analysis or catalysis & catalyst characterization.

Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of interactions between different phases/sectors of the AO process.
  • Expertise in lab experimentation and report writing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of catalyst development and characterization.
  • Good knowledge of French is required.
  • Knowledge of English is a plus.

About the pay


Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is: €77,000 - €86,000 per year in Belgium.
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
