About the role 

 
Our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team, is integrated into the Strategy and M&A department and focuses on end-to-end M&A, divestment and joint venture transaction delivery in collaboration with group finance, legal, business divisions and external advisors. 

 
As a M&A Manager, you will work on cross geography transaction project coordination, financial & business evaluation and stakeholder management to support successful execution of acquisitions, divestments and joint venture projects. You will get the opportunity to contribute to Solvay’s group strategic portfolio transformation and have a positive impact on the company’s long-term value creation. You will be accountable for: 

  • Throughout the project lifecycle, overall coordination of the internal project team: set up of the team and the overall timeline, team animation and team progress monitoring. Deal origination is not part of the role  

  • Coordination of the external advisors (investment banks, M&A boutiques, strategy consultants, transaction services consultants, tax advisors, etc.), business modeling and financial evaluation of target companies  

  • Preparation, supervision and review of the various internal and external deliverables: mainly Teaser, Information Memorandum, challenge of Business Plan, Deal Structuring & Process Letters, Carve-Out Matters, Vendor Due Diligence (VDD) supervision, Data room review and review of Sales & Purchase Agreement (SPA) and Ancillary Agreements. 

  • Coordination of all internal stakeholders throughout the project: business teams, finance teams and representatives of the various corporate functions and shared services centers of the Group (tax, treasury, accounting, environmental)  

  • Close collaboration with the M&A Corporate Counsel and their team on all legal aspects of the transaction (due diligence, negotiation, contractual aspects, closing process). The M&A Manager will participate in the entire negotiation process for the transaction(s) under their responsibility. Presentation of recommendations to the senior management of the Group.  

We offer a fixed term contract (mid-January 2026 to mid-June 2027 expected) based on hybrid working mode. Depending on performance and the team’s workload evolution, this fixed term contract could be transformed into a permanent position. 

 

About you 

 
Relevant university degree or equivalent in General Management, Business Administration or Law, complemented by additional qualifications in Finance and Accounting. At least 8 years' work experiences in (i) a corporate M&A team of an industrial company (ideally in the chemical industry), and/or (ii) a transaction services team of a recognized audit firm, and/or (iii) an investment banking desk of a leading banking institution. Fluent English required and other languages are a plus.

  • Strong end-to-end M&A technical expertise with solid accounting and financial modelling capabilities for transaction evaluation and deal structuring 

  • Advanced cross functional project management skills, capable of leading multidisciplinary, multicultural teams and coordinating multiple internal & external stakeholders 

  • Proven negotiation capability, results oriented mindset and readiness for flexible working hours and business travel

About the pay 

 
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is:  

  • EUR 100,000- EUR 141,500 per year in Belgium 

  • EUR 77,200 - EUR 111,000 per year in France 

 

 
Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
