About the Role

Our procurement logistics team, composed of 7 people, is integrated in the Global Procurement department and focuses on logistics categories (primarily ROAD, with exposure to Rail, Barge, Warehousing, Onsite logistics, Equipment Rental, etc.) in collaboration with internal business stakeholders and external suppliers.
As a Logistics Buyer VIE, you will work on analytical tasks, data management, and supplier communication to support category buyers across the EMEA region. You will get the opportunity to contribute to sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier portfolio management and have a positive impact on Solvay’s logistics and freight optimization strategy.

You will be accountable for:

• Analytical tasks to support procurement decisions
• Data management and reporting accuracy
• Communication with internal clients and suppliers
• Ownership of assigned tasks with eagerness to learn
• Collaboration with the team and business side to ensure smooth procurement operations

We offer a VIE fixed-term contract (12–24 months) based in Brussels Headquarters, with a hybrid working mode (several days per week onsite).

About You

Relevant education degree or equivalent in Economics, Business, or Procurement. Relevant work experience in procurement or supply chain (internship or similar).

Competencies:

• Business logic and mathematical skills
• Problem-solving mindset and IT proficiency (Excel, G-sheets, analytics, SAP)
• Strong communication skills in English (additional languages such as French, Dutch, German, Italian are an advantage)

About the pay and benefits

• Monthly Allowance :  2,866,11€
• This position is a VIE contract, with a long term duration from one to two years. To become a VIE in our Company, you must fulfil the following conditions :
  • Be aged at least 18 but not yet 29 : you must be 28 when you start your assignment, bearing in mind that a V.I.E contract always starts on the 1st of the month.
  • Be French or a European citizen.
  • Be in good standing with regard to the national service obligations of your country.
  • Have a clean criminal record.
  • Be able to devote yourself full time to your assignment : no part-time work, entrepreneurship, studies or paid activity at the same time as your V.I.E.
