About the role 

 

Our Legal Projects, Operations and Centers of Excellence team is integrated in the General Counsel (GC) department. As Legal Counsel, you will focus on regulatory, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) expertise in collaboration with diverse business and functional stakeholders.

 

Your role involves working effectively with a diverse team (business and function) to come up with the best solution. This will give you the opportunity to develop your influencing skills and abilities to work transversally across a broad range of stakeholders. You will get the opportunity to contribute to strategic business decisions and have a positive impact on preserving our planet’s beauty and enhancing everyday life through sustainable chemistry. You will be accountable for: 

  • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulatory and HSE laws and regulations.
  • Strategically advising the business on activities from a regulatory and HSE perspective.
  • Analyzing complex factual and legal situations to provide actionable risk mitigation.
  • Partnering transversally with business teams to deliver practical legal solutions.
  • Synthesizing and conveying complex information to a broad range of stakeholders. 

 

We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode. 

 

About you 

 

Master’s degree in Law (LLM is a plus) and 7+ years of experience in regulatory and HSE matters, ideally within the chemical industry or a top-tier law firm. 

 

Competencies: 

  • Expert knowledge of International/EU regulations (REACH, CLP, BPR, OSHD, WFD, ESPRS, PPWR, EPRTR, etc.).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English (French is a strong asset).

About the pay 

 

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is: € 100,000 - € 125,000 per year in Belgium. Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
