About the role

  • The Internal Audit team, integrated in the Internal Audit & Risk Management department, reports directly to Solvay's CFO and the Audit & Risk Committee. Our team is a vibrant and globally diverse group, consisting of 7 professionals from distinct nationalities, with an average age nearing 30. Our team members bring diverse backgrounds in engineering, external audit, and finance, contributing to a rich mosaic of expertise. As a talent pool for the Group, we empower our members to develop leadership skills and foster career growth within the company.

  • As an Internal Audit Manager,  you will report directly to the Internal Audit & Risk Management Director and be part of the department’s Management Team. 

  • You will be accountable for: 

    • Managing and promoting the development of a team of 6 talented people in a multicultural environment.

    • Ensuring appropriate staffing of the team and of audit assignments.

    • Defining the annual audit plan in close collaboration with the Internal Audit and Risk Management Director as well as key stakeholders at different levels in the organization (Audit & Risk Committee, Executive Leadership Team, Business Unit Management, etc).

    • Ensuring annual audit plan implementation including the follow-up of audit action plans.

    • Managing the audit assignments by supporting and coaching the team members during all phases of the audit process (scope preparation, elaboration of working programs, quality assurance during fieldwork, reviewing audit reports, etc).

    • Communicating the audit results and main activities of the team  to the different levels of the organization.

    • Fostering an environment of change and continuous improvement of audit methods in line with market best practices while promoting the digitalization of the department. 

  • We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode. Willingness to travel occasionally (<10%).

 

About you

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Engineering or Science. At least 5 years of relevant work experience (thereof 2-3 years as an audit manager) in internal audit, ideally in a global industrial company,  and / or Big 4 external audit. Professional certifications, e.g. CIA or CPA will be considered an asset. 

  • Competencies:

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills to navigate complex audit processes effectively.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.

    • Extensive experience in managing audits in a multicultural environment, including the use of data analytics / data mining techniques.  

    • Some experience in supporting fraud investigations desirable.

    • Fluent in English, with additional proficiency in other languages such as French, Portuguese, Spanish, or German is considered a valuable asset.

  • Behaviors:

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country base pay (Belgium) reasonably expected for this role is 110 400 euros to 138 000 euros, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
