About the role
Our Global Advanced Automation & Industrial Data Analytics team, composed of 5 people, is integrated in the Industrial Function and focuses on improving the assets performance of our manufacturing sites to enable efficient, sustainable and profitable chemical industrial operations in collaboration with our Business Units & Corporate Functions.
As an Industrial Data Scientist & Optimization Specialist, you will work on designing, implementing, and commissioning advanced analytics projects & developing, maintaining, and improving mathematical optimization models to support our Digital Industrial Transformation strategy. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the strategic transformation of the company and have a positive impact on the industrial operations.
You will be accountable for:
- Translating industrial and operational needs into advanced analytics requirements and insights.
- Designing and implementing industrial data science solutions to optimize performance, quality, and maintenance.
- Developing and deploying energy optimization solutions, including the full industrialization process.
- Communicating complex analytical results and ideas to stakeholders and decision-makers effectively.
- Training and supporting engineers in advanced analytics and optimization techniques.
- Researching and developing optimization algorithms with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode.
About you
- Relevant education degree or equivalent in Master in Chemical Engineering, Process Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field with a strong chemical/process background and specialization in Data Science, Machine Learning, Modeling, Simulation and/or Optimization.
- Relevant work experience in Data Science techniques and demonstrable technical skills in developing mathematical optimization solutions for complex real-world problems, applied to chemical industrial operations. Minimum 5 years of experience preferred.
Competencies:
- Process Engineering & Optimization: Strong background in chemical and process engineering with expertise in applying mathematical optimization techniques and using tools like CPLEX and Gurobi to solve complex industrial problems.
- Industrial Data Science: Proficient in machine learning, covering supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, with hands-on skills in Python, Azure, and Dataiku for industrial applications.
- Data Management & Visualization: Experienced in handling and querying industrial data from historian databases (e.g., PI, IP21) and using industry-leading tools like Power BI and SEEQ for analysis and visualization.
