The Tax & Statutory Reporting Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing our finance processes through the strategic use of technology. This individual is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the solutions supporting the Tax & Statutory Reporting processes, such as (native) SAP Tax determination, Vertex, local tax and statutory reporting applications. It is also a key player in the shaping of Syensqo’s future IT landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and decide on change requests for our IT finance systems, ensuring they align with our IT strategy, business goals, and budget constraints. Secure the proper implementation of approved changes.
- Partner with the finance team to understand their needs, define system requirements, and deploy IT solutions that enhance their processes. Lead projects from conceptualization to execution.
- Provide expertise and guidance to the ERP Rebuild project, ensuring that the systems delivered meet both functional and non-functional requirements, and are seamlessly integrated into finance’s daily operations.
- Oversee user requests and issues, ensuring efficient resolution by our IT support teams. Keep a close watch on the performance of the applications supporting the Tax & Statutory Reporting processes; manage escalations and liaise with IT vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring uninterrupted finance operations.
- Ensure all activities adhere to Syensqo IT policies and standards, with emphasis on Cybersecurity compliance and exhaustive documentation.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT finance jobs; experience in the finance function will also be considered.
- Demonstrable experience supporting SAP Tax determination and tax/statutory reporting local solutions (ie Mastersaf) is essential. Knowledge of non-SAP tax determination tools (ie Vertex) as well as Idocs handling is desirable; experience in S4 Hana is a plus.
- Experience in leading IT projects.

Additional information
Open to candidates not based in the EMEA region, provided they can work within the European time zone for approximately 5 hours per day.
