About the role

Our Government & Public Affairs team is part of the Group Government & Public Affairs department. The team focuses on supporting, promoting, and advocating for Solvay's activities and interests, working closely with internal stakeholders as well as with government stakeholders at both national and regional levels.

As an Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the team by monitoring and analyzing policy developments, assisting with stakeholder engagement, and contributing to the department’s engagement and advocacy efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate public affairs within a global, purpose-driven company.

You will be accountable for:

• Monitoring and reporting on key political, legislative, and regulatory developments at the global, EU andnational level in support of the Government and Public Affairs (GPA) team
• Conducting in-depth research on specific public policy topics relevant to Solvay’s business, such asenergy policy, climate policy, chemical policy, sustainability policy, trade policy and industrial regulation
• Drafting briefing notes, presentations, and other communications materials for internal and externalstakeholders
• Assisting in the preparation of internal and external events, meetings and conferences
• Attending external meetings and events relevant for the GPA team and Solvay
• Supporting the team with general administrative tasks and project coordination

We offer a 6 months internship based on a hybrid working mode.The internship can start on November, December or January. 

About you

You are currently pursuing, or have recently completed, a degree in Political Science, Public Policy, European Affairs, International Relations, or a related field. You have a strong interest in understanding how public policy and regulatory developments shape the business environment, particularly in areas such as sustainability, energy, climate, and industrial policy.

• Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to consolidate complex information into clear and concise insights.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, allowing you to engage confidently in an international environment.
• A genuine interest in sustainability, environmental issues, and the evolving regulatory landscape affecting industry and business.

About the pay

The base pay expected for this role is:

• € 350 - € 1095 per month in Belgium, depending on the type of internship.
