About the role

 

As a Global Category Manager, you will be responsible for the design of global category strategies for Remediation & CAPEX, optimizing value, and driving continuous improvement across the organization. Your role operates within a hybrid organizational structure, balancing global leverage and coordination with regional needs and specific market dynamics. You will collaborate closely with the Sites, business stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure alignment and effective execution of category strategies. You will be accountable for: 

  • Develop and Deploy Global Category Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive global category strategies for Remediation and CAPEX (including Technical/Environmental Services, Consulting, Engineering, and IOT), prioritizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), risk management, and sustainability, while driving standardization and simplification across regions.
  • Expert Category Management and Risk Mitigation: Act as a subject-matter expert, monitoring market trends and potential disruptions, and identifying/mitigating risks to ensure business continuity and supply security.
  • Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Select, evaluate, and manage strategic suppliers, driving negotiations and contract creation/updates (including EPC/EPCm strategies), and monitoring performance against KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Trusted Advisor and Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to the business, providing insights on technical/commercial specifications and building strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., Remediation Experts, GEC, Industrial Directors) to align on needs and deliverables.
  • Project Execution, Spend Analysis, and Cost Savings: Execute Remediation project sourcing requirements (RFQ to PO), analyze supplier spend and saving trends, and proactively propose, implement, and monitor cost savings initiatives.
  • Compliance and Digital Procurement: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant policies (e.g., Procurement Handbook, Ecovadis/TfS), regulations, and ethical standards, while promoting the use and growth of e-tools (SAP MM, Convergence) for efficient operations.

 

We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode.

 

About you

 

Relevant education degree or equivalent in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration.

8 to 10 years work experience in Category Management/Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, preferably in the chemical industry or a related sector.

Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies in a global organization.

2/3 years of experience in Site Remediation and Project procurement experience is a plus.

About the pay

 

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is:

  • 84 000€ to 105 000€,per year in Belgium 

Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
