About the role
Our Consolidation team, composed of 4 people, is integrated in the Corporate Finance department and focuses on account consolidation in collaboration with the Group Accounting and Reporting team.
As a Consolidation Specialist, you will work on consolidation, analysis and reporting to support Corporate Finance. You will get the opportunity to contribute to Solvay’s financial health and have a positive impact on our financial transparency.
You will be accountable for:
- The consolidation of Solvay results prepared on a monthly basis to provide timely insight into the business performance to the Executive Leadership Team;
- The preparation of the Solvay external financial reporting for all the Group’s financial stakeholders, published on a quarterly basis, including the Annual Integrated Report;
- Compliance with IFRS and other regulatory requirements;
- The analysis of the Group’s portfolio movements and the simulation of the related impacts on the Group financials in close cooperation with the M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) department;
- Maintaining and monitoring relevant internal controls applicable to the consolidation process

About you
Our ideal candidate is a team player with internal customer focus. Is problem solving and result-oriented, has time and process management skills and is strong in data analytics. Proven experience and skills needed:
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or business economics; CPA is a plus. Relevant work experience in a similar accounting or finance position in a multinational environment.
- Competencies:
- Strong understanding of a consolidation process and IFRS accounting standards
- Working knowledge of ERP and consolidation tools, with SAP BFC and/or Group Reporting as a plus
- Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication, French is a plus
- Self-starter with high work ethics
- Behaviors:

- Interested to learn and further develop
- Fostering a good working relationship with other Group functions, the Global Business Services and the local company accounting managers and controllers
About the pay
- Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary location (Belgium) base pay reasonably expected for this role is 70.000€ to 80.000€, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
